Turn an SVG into a vector PDF. It's converted in your browser, so your file is never uploaded.
How it works
1. Upload
Drop an SVG on the box above, or click the box to choose a file. It opens in your browser and isn't uploaded.
2. Pick the page
Keep the page the size of the SVG, or choose A4 or Letter in portrait or landscape.
3. Download
Press Download PDF. The PDF is made on your device, with the shapes kept as vectors.
The converter redraws your SVG with PDF drawing commands: every path, line and shape becomes a PDF path, and color gradients become PDF gradients. Nothing is turned into a picture, so the PDF stays sharp when you zoom in or print it at poster size, and Illustrator, Inkscape and Affinity can open it as editable shapes.
It all happens on your device. Your SVG isn't sent to VectorArt.ai or anywhere else, and there's no account, watermark or file limit.
Fills, strokes, linear and radial gradients, patterns, clipping paths, transparency, markers and reused symbols all come through as vectors. Photos or PNG and JPG images embedded in the SVG are placed in the PDF as images.
Filter effects, such as blurs and drop shadows, and masks are left out. If your SVG uses them, the page tells you before you download. Scripts, animation and links to outside files are removed.
Working from a PNG or JPG? Turn it into an SVG first with the PNG to SVG converter. If the SVG has a background you don't want in the PDF, take it out with the SVG background remover before converting.
Vector. The shapes are written as PDF paths, which you can check by zooming in as far as your viewer goes. Only images that were already inside the SVG, such as an embedded photo, stay as pixels.
No. Your browser reads the file and builds the PDF itself. The file isn't sent to any server, so private or unreleased artwork stays on your device.
Text stays as text you can select, but in one of the standard PDF fonts: Helvetica for Arial and sans-serif, Courier for monospace, and Times for other fonts. Characters outside Western European alphabets may not show. To keep your exact lettering, convert text to paths before exporting the SVG (in Illustrator, Type › Create Outlines; in Inkscape, Path › Object to Path).
With Fit to SVG, the page is the size of your SVG, counting 96 pixels to an inch, with no margin. With A4 or Letter, the SVG is scaled up or down to fit inside a half-inch margin and centered, in portrait or landscape.
Yes. There's no account, no watermark and no limit on files, because the conversion runs on your own device.
